Two men have been arrested following a burglary in Bury St Edmunds.
Police were called at approximately 2:30pm yesterday, Wednesday 16 June, to reports of a burglary at The Apex in Charter Square where alcohol was stolen.
Entry was forced to an upstairs bar area, which was otherwise closed to the public, where at least one male was then seen on CCTV.
Officers received another call a short time later to reports of two males matching the description of the suspects in Buttermarket, where they were reported to be intoxicated and causing distress to members of the public.
On police arrival, the males attempted to evade officers before being detained shortly after 3pm.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, obstructing a police officer and possession of class B or C drugs.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, obstructing a police officer, of a Section 5 public order offence and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Both men were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.
