Two men charged with drug dealing in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich

Police have arrested and charged a man with drug offences with suspected links to Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich.

Officers from the Met police attended a property yesterday (Wed 25 May) in Ilford as part of Operation Orochi and arrested a 17 year old male and a 26 year old male on suspicion of being concerned in supplying class A drugs

Both were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

26 year old Fabian Joe of Anselm Avenue in Bury St Edmunds was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine – both between April and May 2021 – and also possession of a knife in a public place.

He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning (Thurs 27 May).

The 17 year old male was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Operation Orochi, led by the Metropolitan Police, has been in place in Suffolk since February 2020. It focuses on tackling drugs supply offences and County Lines by arresting the line controller, rather than the person transporting the drugs. Officers from the Serious Crime Disruption Team (SCDT) in Suffolk will share intelligence with a dedicated team at the Met, who will then investigate in order to identify the line controller and their location.
