Two teenagers arrested following assault in Bury St Edmunds

Police investigating an incident of GBH in Bury St Edmunds are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

The offence took place at approximately 7.20pm on Monday 14 November in St Andrews Street South.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was attacked by a group of other juvenile teenagers in the middle of the road, who punched and kicked him multiple times. He sustained a number of facial injuries which required hospital treatment.

Two boys, aged 16 and 15, were both arrested later that evening on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

They were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and subsequently released on bail until Monday 13 February, pending further enquiries.

Detectives understand the victim and some of the suspects are known to each other.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to this incident and are also asking any motorists who were driving in the area with a dashcam in their vehicle, to review the footage for anything that may be of assistance.
