Woman sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment following shoplifting offences in Bury St Edmunds

A woman who was arrested in Bury St Edmunds this week on suspicion of shoplifting has been sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment. 

Officers from the safer neighbourhood team made the arrest on Tuesday, 21st November after she was involved in five incidents of shoplifting in the town, to a value of £2000.

33-year-old Kursten Dixon of fixed abode from the Bury St Edmunds area was arrested at a flat in town before appearing at Ipswich magistrates court yesterday.

Kursten Dixon was sentenced at court this week to 14 weeks imprisonment

Dixon was sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment, which included four weeks for breaching a suspended sentence for a previous shoplifting offence. She was also given a fine and a victim surcharge.
