Essential maintenance work is to be carried out to St Andrews Long Stay Car Park in Bury St Edmunds later this month.
West Suffolk Council is carrying out resurfacing and relining to the car park.
The work will cost around £100,000 with the money being reinvested from car parking income.
Only half of the spaces will be available during the work, which is scheduled for five days, starting on Monday 31 October. There will also be work to the Parkway entrance/ exit taking place from 4.30pm on the Thursday and Friday evenings. During this period only residential permit holders will be able to access the car park while vehicles will exit onto St Andrews St North.
Advanced warning signs for the work have gone up this week while West Suffolk Council is also contacting nearby residents and businesses.
The Flexi-Stay car park will be unaffected by the work and will remain operational throughout.
Cllr Peter Stevens, Cabinet Member for Operations at West Suffolk Council said: “We recognise that these works will cause some disruption and we would like to thank residents, businesses and town centre visitors in advance for their patience while we carry out this work to fix the wear and tear that has occurred.”
