Man banned from being close to a primary school in Bury St Edmunds following community protection notice order

A man in his 30s has been told that he cannot be close to a primary school in Bury St Edmunds at the start and end of the school day.

Following his conduct outside Westgate Primary School in Bury St Edmunds, the man was given a community protection notice letter.

The notices are usually handed out to people committing anti-social behaviour. Bury St Edmunds Police didn’t say exactly why he was given the notice but speaking on social media a spokesperson said “no children came to harm but his order means he must avoid the area at the start and end of the school day for 12 months”.

The order will be in place for 12 months. Failure to adhere to the notice would mean he would face further police action.
