Man suffers slash wounds to the face following assault in Moreton Hall

Police are investigating an incident of assault in Bury St Edmunds.

It was reported yesterday (Monday 3 January) at about 4.45pm in the Natterers Wood area near to Mount Road that a male, aged 28, was out running when he had altercation with unknown suspect who was walking a dog.

The suspect assaulted victim by slashing him with unknown weapon causing a laceration above eye that needed treatment at hospital.

The suspect is described as wearing a light blue hooded top, black jeans/jogging bottoms, black woollen gloves, black snood wrapped over his mouth and nose. He was about five foot, 10 inches tall and the dog was described as a ‘Staffy’ which was described as black and white.

Enquiries are on-going anyone who knows who the offender was should contact Bury St Edmunds CID quoting crime reference number 37/493/22.
