Two restaurants in Bury St Edmunds have been recognised at the Michelin Star awards last night at a virtual ceremony hosted by Davina McCall.
Restaurant Pea Porridge was awarded a Michelin star. Justin Sharp described the moment as “surreal” and a “total dream come true”. He told Davina how the business has adapted during lockdown and thanked his wife, family, and friends for their support.
Pea Porridge, which opened in 2009 by chef Justin Sharp and wife Jurga, has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for several years but this is the first time it has held a Michelin Star.
Elsewhere Karine Canavet from Maison Bleue got the Sommelier award. Speaking at the virtual awards Karine said that she was “shocked” and paid tribute to her great team.
