New home at RAF Honington for the RAF Volunteer Gliding Sqaudron

611 the Volunteer Gliding Squadron of the Royal Air Force has a new home at RAF Honington.

The squadron will call Honington their new home after 8 years of not flying. The Unit will provide flying opportunities to RAF Air Cadets and Combined Cadet forces.

Currently, the Squadron is operating two Viking gliders two weekends a month. However, the base says that this will soon be increased to more especially as the weather starts to improve.

Speaking on Social media an RAF Honington spokes person said “We are very excited to announce and give a warm welcome to 611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron as they return after 8 years of not flying and make RAF Honington their new home”.
