Parents of a child who was found wandering the streets bailed after being arrested

The parents of a child who was found wandering the streets of an estate in Bury St Edmunds have been bailed after being arrested.

A child was found by a member of the public in Howard Estate area of the town shortly before 11am yesterday, Sunday 10 September.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson confirmed “The parents of the child, aged under 5, came forward to police and the child is safe and well.

“Two people were arrested on suspicion of child neglect and were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police investigation Centre. They were subsequently released on bail while enquiries continue”.
