Police respond to reports of car travelling in the wrong direction on the A14

The A14 westbound was closed for a time yesterday morning, Sunday 15th August, following to reports of a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction.

Emergency services received reports shortly before 10:30am that a vehicle was seen in the Rougham area travelling against the flow of traffic on the busy main road.

Suffolk Police vehicles began a rolling road block from junction 47 at Woolpit through to the Bury interchanges.

A spokes person from Suffolk Police said “we had a call at 10:30am on Sunday of a report of a vehicle on east bound carriageway but driving west. It was an elderly male in blue Mazda vehicle. There were no indication of any injury or collision”.
