St Benedict’s planning application for new science block

A Bury St Edmunds School has submitted a planning application for a new science block and bike storage facilities.

St Benedict’s Catholic School in Beetons Way filled the planning application to Suffolk County Council yesterday.

Architects Hoopers have designed a two-storey brick block with a science lab on each floor. A green timber circulation module has been proposed to wrap around the block and contain a lift, toilets and bag storage facilities.

A purpose built single storey chemical store and prep room will also be located to the rear of the block.

The two new specialist classrooms aim to facilitate the increased pupil numbers the school has seen in recent years.
