A piece of artwork created the local community during lock down has officially been unveiled.
The Crowning Glory sculpture is made up of over 500 hand painted ‘floral jewels’ made using the bases of single use bottles which were collected and decorated by members of the community including schools and care homes.
The sculpture co-ordinated by ‘the crafty foxes,’ takes its inspiration from the Crown of St Edmunds
Bury in Bloom commissioned the piece and is this years entry into the ‘Best Display of Recycled Materials’.
The art work, situated in the Abbey Gardens was officially unveiled yesterday, Tuesday 7th July, and can be found in front of the mosaic (at the back of the public toilets).
