Trading Standards seize clothes from a market trader selling suspected counterfeit goods in Bury St Edmunds

Trading Standards have seized clothes from a market trader selling suspected counterfeit items from brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste in Bury St Edmunds this week.

A spokesperson for Suffolk County Council Trading Standards said: “Trading Standards Officers, assisted by police colleagues, attended Bury St Edmunds market on Wednesday 09 August and seized a quantity of clothing believed to be counterfeit from a trader. Brands included Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste”.

Officers from Trading Standards and Suffolk Police were seen at the stall taking bags of items away.

The spokesperson continues to say “Investigations are continuing. Any members of the public who suspect counterfeit goods are being sold can report concerns to Trading Standards on 0808 223 1133.”
