Two arrested after teenager is stabbed in Bury St Edmunds

Two teenagers have been arrested by police after a teenage boy was assaulted in Bury St Edmunds.

The incident took place yesterday Saturday 29 January, sometime between 6:20pm and 6:50pm on Mount Road. Two boys walking down the road were approached by two older male teenagers, one of whom was carrying a knife. It is reported that the older teenagers then chased the boys and assaulted one of them. The victim, a 14 year old boy sustained a single puncture wound to the shoulder. The suspects then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but was discharged earlier today.

At approximately 2:30am in the earlier hours of today, Sunday 30 January, police arrested a teenage boy and a man in Newmarket on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. Both males have been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where they will be questioned by detectives.
